The Faculty of History at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń invites you to the 5th Prof. Jerzy Wojciech Borejsza Scientific Seminar. The event will take place on 25 February 2026 from 12:00 to 15:00 at the Collegium Humanisticum of Nicolaus Copernicus University (room C.0.39). The seminar will feature two 30-minute presentations, followed by a discussion. Admission is free.


Traces of the Great Terror (1937–1938) in Comintern documentation concerning Polish communists

Dr. Eryk Krasucki, professor at the University of Szczecin – employee of the Historical Institute of the University of Szczecin, researcher of 20th-century history, with particular emphasis on the history of communism, political movements, and political changes in Poland after 1945. Author of the monograph Żydowski Marzec ’68 w Szczecinie (Jewish March '68 in Szczecin) (2008); Międzynarodowy komunista. Jerzy Borejsza – biografia polityczna (International Communist. Jerzy Borejsza – a political biography) (2009 – KLIO Award, Book of the Year by the Literary Monthly KSIĄŻKI, nominated for the Kazimierz Moczarski and Jerzy Giedroyc awards); Przesilenie. The Szczecin Society and Authorities in January and February 1971. Source Image (2010); Andrzej Milczanowski (1939–2024). An (auto)biographical collage – together with Kinga Konieczny – (2025). Biography of Aniela Mieczysławska-Raczyńska. Assumptions, sources, research issues

Dr. Kamila Łabno-Hajduk – researcher of post-war Polish emigration, assistant professor at the Institute of History and Archival Science at the KEN University in Kraków. Author of the book Zofia Hertz. A Life in the Measure of “Kultura” (2023), nominated for the Polityka Historical Awards, the Jerzy Giedroyc Award, and the Polish Writers Abroad Association Award. Winner of the City of Kraków Award (2021) and the Polityka Scientific Awards (2024) in the field of humanities. She is a scholarship holder of the Lanckoroński Foundation (2016, 2025, 2026), the Jerzy Pietrkiewicz Scientific Foundation (2014), and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2026). She is currently working on a biography of Aniela Mieczysławska-Raczyńska, née Lilpop.
